German chocolate upside down cake

One of my favorite desserts! So easy to make, but tastes like you’ve spent all day baking.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Box German Chocolate Cake Mix

  • 3 c Powered Sugar

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (Softened)

  • 1 Stick Butter (Softened)

  • 1 c Chopped Pecans

  • 1 1/2 c Sweetened Flaked Coconut

    INSTRUCTIONS

    Mix cake according to instructions, set aside. In the bottom of a sprayed 9x13 pan, sprinkle coconut and pecans all over bottom. Pour cake batter all over, being careful not to mix. In a separate bowl, combine butter and cream cheese. Beat with a hand mixer until smooth. Add powdered sugar a little at a time, mix well. Place dollops of the cream cheese mixture all over the cake batter. Leave at least a 1/2 inch space all around the pan (careful not to touch the sides of the pan). Bake for about 50-55 minutes at 350F.
